This is to confirm that Greystanes Disability Services uses Warren Saunders Insurance Brokers (WSIB) to assist them in managing all areas of workers compensation. Greystanes Disability Services has used WSIB for approximately the last 10 years. Our organisation has over 150 employees with the majority of these employees being support workers who are involved in a broad range of manual handling activities. My name is Les Henley and throughout the last four years I have been employed by the Australian Foundation for Disability (AFFORD) as the WHS&IM Advisor. In this role I have been responsible for managing the Workers Compensation Insurance premium, individual claims and return to work (RTW) processes for injured workers.
 

Warren Saunders Insurance Brokers (WSIB) have provided service, support, advice and guidance to the Australian Foundation for Disability in the field of workers compensation and claims management for several years, even preceding my commencement with AFFORD. 

During my four years I have received consistent support, advice and guidance from various members of the WSIB team in relation to both the insurance premium management and individual claims and RTW case management, and including management of the Insurers performance. 

With WSIBs support AFFORD has managed to achieve a consistent improvement to workers compensation performance as demonstrated by a variety of performance indicators. 

A key indicator of this successful partnership has been that despite a significant growth in wage roll (approximately $3M per year over the past 4 years), the premium, as a percentage of wage roll, has been reduced from 3.15% in 2010/11 to 1.65% in 2014/15. 

The primary reason for this positive performance has been a strong representation to the insurer by WSIB, on AFFORDs behalf, in containing individual claims costs, strong case review processes conducted on a quarterly basis, and in ensuring that the various elements of the premium calculation are reviewed annually and accurately presented to ensure the best cost outcome for AFFORD. 

A secondary reason has been the detailed monthly reporting data that is prepared by WSIB to support management of the premium and claims performance and reporting to the Board. This reporting regime has assisted AFFORD in keeping a focus on short term trends and movements which in turn enable timely management actions to achieve optimum long term outcomes 

Throughout the time I have been in this role, I have always had timely responses from WSIB to queries, referrals of claims for other third party involvement (eg: investigations and rehabilitation providers) and associated matters and have been consistently impressed by their customer focus. 

It is for these and many other reasons that I would not hesitate to recommend WSIB to any organisation looking to obtain support with management of workers compensation matters.
